PTA Bringing New System To Filter SMS Messages With Bad Words

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is working on a system which will be used to filter those SMS Messages that will be having bad vulgar words.  For this purpose PTA has prepared a list of around 1600 words and whichever SMS Message will be having any word from that   list will be filtered and will not be delivered to the person whom it is sent.

This list of 1600 words contains English as well as Urdu Words. PTA has already started working with all the telecom companies on this system and soon it will be launched.  PTA has taken decision of launching this system because no. of abusive and bad SMS messages that are sent is increasing with every passing day in Pakistan. According to some sources this system of filtering SMS Messages will start working from 21st November but it is not confirmed yet.
